Easy, fast handling, best board feel for the downhill

Only when your splitboard binding feels like a normal snowboard binding can you enjoy the descent to the fullest. The Union Explorer binding therefore focuses on natural board feeling, less moving parts and a robust design, made for the longest tours and steepest lines.

Split Pin System
The Union Split System is simple and very quick to use. To switch to ride mode, simply place the binding on the disc mounted to the board, slide the long pin under the baseplate and you're done. To switch to walk mode, pull the pin out again, place the binding on the touring brackets and push the pin back in.

Highback
The EXP2 Highback was developed specifically for splitboarding. It comes with a quick release for the tilt angle (Forward Lean). This allows you to switch from touring to ride mode with just one hand movement.

Baseplate
Mixed with carbon, Duraflex CB is lighter and much stiffer than typical glass reinforced nylon parts. The footbed has a special Non-Stick™ coating. This prevents ice from forming on the footbed and highback.

Straps
The ExoFrame 4.0 ankle straps are the ultimate connection between boot and binding. The progressive flex allows for quick response and power transfer for demanding riding at high speeds. The thermoplastic anti-slip material of the wide TS-2.0 toe straps keep your boots bombproof and secure in the binding. The Magnesium 3.0 buckles are made of magnesium and aluminium. A good combination of lightness and stability.

Very good

I was looking for a splitboard binding that was reliable, easy to mount and wouldn't drain my bank account. I've been splitboarding for about five years and I mainly go on tours that aren't too demanding, but I was still looking for a binding that would support me on rides that are a bit more challenging. Union has always been a guarantee of quality and top performance for me, plus they produce their bindings in Italy, so it's a win-win. That is why my choice fell on the Union Explorer. I bought them in size M, which fits my size 40.5 Salomon snowboard boots perfectly.

I used the Explorer bindings in rather spring-like conditions, both on groomed slopes and in fresh snow. These bindings are quite light, which is definitely a plus when it comes to splitboarding. They are also extremely comfortable, so much so that it feels like using a normal, reliable and fun pair of snowboard bindings. The pin system is really simple and intuitive to use and switching from ascent to descent mode or vice versa can be done in a very short time, even if there is ice or snow on the board. The only problem I encountered, although just one or two times, was that the pin tended to slip out from under the binding in riding mode. However, I realised this in time and easily reinserted the pin. So make sure you push it all the way down firmly before starting the descent!

I recommend the Union Explorer splitboard bindings to all the pleasure tourers who are looking for reliable and comfortable splitboard bindings, without wanting to spend a fortune.

Mein Name ist Miriam, ich fahre seit über 15 Jahren Snowboard und ich hab mir die UNION Explorer 2023 Splitboard Bindung für meine Splitboard Ausrüstung gekauft. Da ich Union seit Jahren fahre und den Bindungen vertraue, musste auch eine Union auf mein Splitboard.
Ich bin 168 cm groß, wiege 65kilo und habe Schuhgröße 40. Die Bindung hab ich mir in Größe M gekauft, da mein Boot bisschen breiter ist.

Mit der Explorer 2023 Splitboard Bindung bin ich bis dato die eine und andere Tour im Gelände gegangen. Die Handhabung ist super easy und man hat das System sehr schnell verstanden. Was ich mega cool finde ist, dass alle Montageschrauben, Disks, Straps und alles was man so braucht, direkt mit der Bindung mitgeliefert wird und man nicht zustätlich Schrauben kaufen muss.

Ich bin super happy mit meiner neuen Bindung und bin schon sehr gespannt, was ich in Zukunft alles so erkunden werde mit meiner neuen Explorer Union Bindung.
