Product description
Unique split tail technology for unimagined possibilities. It's Magic
The RIDE Alter Ego’s split tail design gives you ultimate snowboard versatility: lock the tail and this thing rips on hardpack, then unlock for a smooth surfy feel with a little bit of a softer flex in the tail. Whether you ride pow, carve deep, or throw a nasty method in the park, this board complements any riding style. No matter at which conditions you want to ride, you can count on the Alter Ego. It conquers slush, ice, groomers, powder or whatever Mother Nature throws you in the way.
Riding Style
If you want an all-mountain RIDE with multiple options, split it and rip it on the Alter Ego. Surf through the deep stuff all morning and then rip fat carves down the groomers all afternoon.
Shape
This directional twin will provide you with some extra float in the deep fluffy stuff while still providing excellent switch riding capabilities. Due to the setback of the bindings towards the tail, the nose gets a little bit longer, while the shape of nose and tail is still symmetric. SplitTail™ technology allows for changing the flex pattern of your board on the fly. This ability opens up crazy opportunities for inbounds and backcountry riding.
Profile
The Directional Hybrid Rocker profile has an under-foot camber with a larger rocker area in the nose than in the tail. The float of the rockered nose improves manoeuvrability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. The slightly rockered tail maintains power and stability but helps to keep the tail catch-free when initiating turns and landing switch.
Flex
The medium flex is stiff enough for hard charging powder riding but gives you the playful feel that you need when executing freestyle moves.
Construction
The Performance Core is made of aspen combined with bamboo and lightweight paulownia wood to provide the perfect balance of strength and weight. Hybrid Glass is triaxial on top and biaxial on base for balanced torsion and stiffness, which results in a better response. The Carbon 3 Array laminates are widespread carbon stringers placed at the binding zone to gather input from any stance width and all pressure angles. Rider input is then channeled to the opposing contact point for maximum board control. The sintered base is an industry standard for quality base materials. Provides a moderate balance between the speed created by a hard surface and good wax retention. Slimewalls® are forgiving and ductile, absorbing impacts rather than defending against them. On top of all that, these babies are virtually indestructible, the most durable sidewalls in snowboarding. The Impact Plates are added underneath each binding area to improve compressive strength and prevent board breaks where it matters most. The real birch wood veneer topsheet is sealed with urethane for a unique look and a smooth ride.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
