Slash Straight 159 Snowboard
Gigi's first Slash board
The Straight is the first board Gigi has produced under the Slash brand.
This freeride board has a hybrid camber profile with a larger, rockered and raised nose that guarantees excellent floatation in deep snow. The camber between the feet increases control, stability and manoeuvrability. Strips of Kevlar and carbon fibre run from the inserts to both tips, helping you to handle bigger landings and providing more stability at high speed.
Riding style
A high-performance all-mountain/freeride board for experienced riders. This board has everything you need to shred all over the mountain with the highest performance. A top board for any terrain, from the piste to the backcountry.
Shape
With the Directional shape, the nose is slightly longer than the tail. The bindings and the sidecut are slightly offset to the back. This increases the stability at higher speeds and the lift in powder.
Profile
The Backseat CamRock design has a rocker in the nose and a slight rocker in the tail with positive camber in between. The setback design provides camber stability and control between the feet and in the tail, with the added float and manoeuvrability of the rockered nose.
Flex
The Straight's medium flex is forgiving and playful, but holds at high speeds without fluttering and is responsive.
Construction
Landing Strips are made of Kevlar and carbon and provide easier landings and more stability in the nose and tail. Constructed from four different lightweight woods - paulownia, spruce, beech and poplar - the Forver Woodcore is a premium core that offers a highly tuned and dynamic feel. It is feather-light, durable, full of pop and highly responsive. Triax and Biax fibreglass offer the best pop, predictable flex and better response. The Straight is rounded off with a fast, sintered base with a stone cut.
Subject to alterations according to the manufacturer. Image is non-binding.
Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
