SWOX creams combine physical sun blockers such as zinc and titanium with extra water-resistant UVA and UVB filters to guarantee long-lasting protection of the skin, especially in water.
SWOX is a group of passionate surfers and snowboarders. By doing a surf trip in 2009 to the Australian west coast, they found that there was no sun protection, which withstood the extreme conditions in the water and the reliably protects the skin against aging and damage. The idea was born to create a Sun protection tailored to the needs of ambitious athletes, especially for the surfing, snowboarding and all other outdoor activities.
All SWOX sun creams, which are produced in Germany and Switzerland are therefore extra waterproof. Active people know how unpleasant it is when sunscreen gets into the eyes through sweat and water and begins to burn. In addition to it’s very high water resistance, SWOX therefore dispenses with perfume and other ingredients that can trigger a burning sensation.
Even greasy hands after applying the cream are of no use to an athlete- no matter if he wants to hold the surfboard while surfing, or the dumbbell while kiting and wakeboarding. SWOX products are therefore quickly absorbed and do not leave any disturbing fat film on your body.
Health and Ingredients
Surfers are health-conscious people. The skin is our largest organ. It is necessary to protect them from the harmful power of the sun and to care for them with sun protection. Of course all SWOX products are dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic. This means that they do not contain any allergenic substances. SWOX sun protection is therefore not perfumed and free of parabens which are used as preservatives in cosmetic products, but suspected of causing cancer.
Packaging and environmental protection
Nature provides our favourite playground, the sea - it is a matter of course to protect it. 14.000 tons of sunscreen land in the oceans every year. This has fatal consequences, especially for sensitive corals, because oxybenzone, which is often used as a UV filter, makes them susceptible to viral infections and leads to reef deaths in the long term. SWOX products do not use oxybenzone. The SWOX tubes are made of " I'm GreenTM - Green Plastic", which results in a large part made from the renewable, organically grown raw material sugar cane instead of crude oil as usual. This not only reduces CO2 emissions during tube production, but also absorbs CO2, thus reducing the greenhouse effect.
