T-Shirts make the man
The most beloved top of all times – the T-shirt! You can show your personality and individuality through different models and colours, prints, slogans and pictures. But what makes a T-shirt?
The origins can be found in between the shirts worn by seamen and the tea-shirt worn by the staff of the English aristocracy. Originally it was intended as an undershirt and it wasn’t worn in public like it is now.
T-Shirts – the streetstyle classic!
These cool tops, mostly made out of cotton, are more suitable for summer temperatures. Especially the casual cut makes it the ideal all-rounder for all outdoor activities.
In combination with the right jacket, hoodie or cardigan and a few accessories, “tees“ can be worn the whole year through.
Longsleeves are the long-sleeved alternative, especially recommendable for cold-sensitive T-shirt lovers.
Among athletes ¾ -long raglan sleeves are quite popular. With his kind of sleeves the seams run up diagonally to the neckline. Raglan shirts are more comfortable because they give you more freedom of movement.
Are you more hot-blooded and prefer as less sleeves as possible? Then we definitely recommend tank tops. They don’t have sleeves and are super handy when the temperatures get tropical.
As can be seen, T-shirts are available for all occasions and they adjust easily to any trend! Combine it with jeans and sneakers and you're perfectly styled.
Neckline or collar? Casual or chic?
Everything is possible, nothing is compulsory. That’s what you should keep in mind when choosing your kind.
Shirts from the V-neck category show off more skin, crewnecks and scoop necks show less.
If it should be sporty but not too casual: take a Polo shirt. The collar and the often used cotton-polyester blend give a more elegant impression. Element, Rip Curl and Volcom have some nice pieces to choose from.
A splash of colour…
After all the cuts and collars, we almost forgot the prints. Plain T-shirts are ok and timeless, but in the long run a bit boring.
For this reason brands like Burton and Nikita offer countless prints and patterns – stripes, dots, plaids, logos, animal prints, denim, acid wash, tie dye, dip dye, etc. etc. etc. Anything you love is possible.
