In 1976 the Vans Slip-On was developed as Model 44 in collaboration with skateboarders and BMXers in California and quickly proved to be a bestseller. Especially the wild youth in SoCal (Southern California) loved the simple canvas low tops with the famous Waffle sole for maximum grip.
This rubber sole has enormous grip due to its special honeycomb structure and is therefore perfectly suited for skating. The sneaker itself hasn't changed much since the 70s, apart from improved materials that ensure durability and even more grip on the skateboard. His image always remains the same: rebellious!

Nothing really says skateboarding like Vans! Their first skate shoe was produced in 1966 and it's been a smooth, innovative ride ever since. Creativity and dedication to skateboarding is the foundation of Vans and with that they have made a huge impact so far. They have won over skateboard hearts all over the world, including ours.
