The Old Skool was never to be surpassed in class. It was the birthplace of the cult side-strip of the van, which today is a status symbol for the tradition and significance of skating. But apart from the impressive personality: The Old Skool is still there simply because it works well on the skateboard and holds forever. Although the Old Skool is now in line with other vans styles, all of which have individual merits, the Old Skool will never lose its importance.

In line with their commitment to sustainability, its VR3 midsole is made of at least 25 % bio-based EVA foam, partly derived from plant sources.

To reduce Vans' overall footprint, they have set ambitious sustainability goals. VR3 represents their commitment at Vans to source one hundred percent of their four highest CO₂ impact materials (cotton, leather, rubber and polyester) from renewable, responsibly sourced, renewable and/or recycled sources by 2030.
