Surf-inspired Powder Slasher

Blending both snowboard and surfboard tech, the Storm Chaser is the latest offspring of Jones’ partnership with surfboard shaper Chris Christenson. Chris designed the rocker profile of the Storm Chaser by using the refined contours of his fastest gliding surfboard. The result is an explosively fast powder rocket that packs insane float into a nimble, short board. The ultra-wide waist width maximizes the float of the short running length and the Surf Rocker profile pops the nose even further out of the snow when you rock into a bottom turn. The Storm Chaser is a power-packed swallowtail that offers magical float in pow and radical carving potential.

Riding Style
The Storm Chaser is made for powder, the deeper the better.

Shape
The Strom Chaser has a Directional Shape which increases float and stability at speed. Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain and condition. In deep snow, the Blunt Nose makes sure that less snow comes over the sides of your nose, as that would obviously slow you down. This also means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose, without the extra weight. Edges like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board. At the far ends of the Progressive Sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Profile
Custom tip/tail rocker profile designed by surf shaper Chris Christenson for boards like the Mind Expander. The nose rocker starts just inside of the front inserts and the tail rocker starts just at the back inserts. When you weight the tail of the board the nose ramps up out of the snow for insane float on the deepest days. These subtle rocker contours match a Christenson surfboard rocker profile.
The Spoon 4.0 3D-Base Contour features 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose, 4mm in the tail and a 1mm deep Speed Channel between the tail edges. The concave Speed Channel pushes loose snow out from under the board for added speed.

A medium-stiff flex will ensure precise response and a lively feel.

Construction
The heart of the Storm Chaser is a re-designed triple density Bamboo Surf Core that features primarily paulownia stringers with bamboo stringers positioned in the pocket of the sidecut for better edge response and turns power. The Web Fused Carbon is a new carbon stringer pack that blends different widths of carbon matched to the specific needs of the board model. Featured on the surf collection models to eliminate nose vibration. Triax Fiberglass offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions. The Sintered 9900 Base is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon. This ultra-fast base is easy to repair thanks to the UHMW-PE. The ECO-Plastic Topsheet is made from Castor beans. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet). All Jones boards are made with Oversized Recycled Steel Edges for added durability and improved production sustainability. The Rubber edge dampening and ABS Sidewall material is made of 100 % recycled material. Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.

Snowboards er som regel leveret klar til brug med en vokset base og slebede kanter. Men denne såkaldte fabriksklargøring er ikke særlig holdbar og dit nye snowboard bør vokses efter et par dage og vedligholdes på regelmæssig basis.
