The new freestyle all-rounder in the Nidecker Line

The new Rift comes with a slightly softer flex and a two-piece shell. This design helps you push and tweak your tricks and lets your style factor skyrocket. The lightweight, cushioned outsole offers plenty of grip and softens vibrations. The Dual BOA® system allows you to lace the upper and lower parts of the boot separately, ensuring the best hold and adjustment in seconds.

Outer boot
The Rift comes with a new, narrow BFT Ascent outsole for optimal cushioning and grip on any surface. In addition, this boot offers OC-Kush cushioning in the sole. The two-part shell design supports you during tweaks and presses.

Liner
The liner is 3D moulded and heat mouldable. This liner offers you comfort and a perfect fit - from day one.

Lacing system
With the Rift, Nidecker uses a Dual BOA® system. This means that you can lace the upper and lower parts of the boot separately. Super fast and practical. The H4-BOA® wheels used are robust, resistant and easy to use.

Dobro

Zum carven sind die sicher gut aber mir sind sie zu hart für alles andere. Zurücklehnen und gleichzeitig in die Knie gehen ist schwierig. Die Bewegung nach vorne ist etwas flexibler aber in Richtung Snowboardachse finde ich den Schuh viel zu fest.
Der Widerstand ist nicht wirklich proportional: D.h. man hat Bewegungsspielraum solange der Liner zusammengedrückt wird und dann steigt der Widerstand schlagartig, wenn sich der Aussenschuh beugen muss. Ich hätte lieber ein proportionales Ansteigen des Widerstands.
Mein Vergleich ist ein Salomon Savage (2012), der sicher sehr weich geworden ist.
Möglich, dass der Rift weicher würde, wenn man damit ein paar Wochen lang herumfahren würde...aber dieses Risiko möchte ich nicht eingehen.
Gewicht ist ok: Genau 1kg wie der Salomon Schuh.
Der Schuh ist 1-2cm höher als der Salomon und er fühlt sich auch höher an, wenn man drin steht.
Dämpfung in der Ferse finde ich vergleichbar mit dem Salomon. Ich hätte lieber etwas mehr Dämpfung für harte Landungen.

Gute Isolation, leicht (Größe 44 wiegt 1kg pro Schuh), sicher gut zum carven.

Super positiv: Nicht in China hergestellt.

Für mich ist der Schuh aber zu wenig flexibel, v.a. längs zum Brett sehr steif. Gleichzeitig nach hinten lehnen und in die Knie gehen ist eher schwierig. Man verliert einen Großteil des Bewegungsspielraums des Fußgelenks. Wer gerne carvt oder schnell fährt, für den sollte das kein Problem sein. Gut möglich, dass der Schuh weicher wird, nachdem man ein paar Wochen damit herum gefahren ist.

Der Schuh ist etwa 1-2cm höher als mein alter Salomon Savage und fühlt sich auch hoch an. Dämpfung im Absatz ist "ok", Salomon Savage finde ich besser gedämpft.

Habe den Schuh zurückgeschickt und war etwas enttäuscht, weil der Schuh eigentlich gute Reviews hat und nicht gerade billig ist.
