Elias Elhardt is nothing less than a visionary. And his signature boot, the Formative, is a testament to his fresh perspective and deep commitment to progress. With the goal of reducing the Formative's impact on the environment, DEELUXE and Elias have worked to redesign boot construction without compromising on performance. The Formative's design uses fewer resources and its shell contains Rise by Bloom, which replaces much of the traditional EVA foam. Rise is a bio-based foam derived from algae.

Outer boot
The Backbone is a reinforcement on the back of the boot, which ensures durability, stability and regulates the flex. The Pro Flex construction offers the best combination of secure hold and optimal flex for pure freestyle performance. The Remedy sole has a deep profile and offers good cushioning. This makes it particularly versatile for use on the mountain. The D-Tex membrane is waterproof and breathable, keeping feet warm and dry. The minimalist Jib Tongue is designed primarily for park and urban snowboarding. This particularly thin boot tongue ensures maximum power transmission between boot and binding.

Liner
The Stage 4 liner delivers a precision-cut design and thanks to the heel pocket, the liner hugs the contours of your foot. An additional lace-up harness wraps your foot and provides exceptional heel hold, as well as a quick and secure fit. For added comfort, the Stage 4 liner features a roomier toe box with a four-way stretch material.

Lacing system
The classic lacing cannot only be adjusted with absolute precision, it also offers you the possibility to quickly change your laces if one should break. With the BOA® Fit System, you can adjust your heel hold to the millimetre and strap yourself into the boot bombproof if you want to.

Odlično

Riding the mountain and the park for quite some years now, it was maybe the 5th
Snowboardboot of mine so I was thinking about the impact of my boots on our environment.
I was stoked to hear and test that there is a Snowboardboot which is (in parts) made of algae. This development is really something to support and it also convinced me in terms of
performance.

As I mainly use it in the funpark, and I do a lot of rails as well, I was a bit sceptically if it would not be too stiff, but it’s actually not too hard, especially in the ankle area it bends well. I can recommend it to any freestyle enthusiast. I also like that they are a bit thicker, so there are no pressure points at all, even when I strap myself in with a lot of power. The Boa wheels is a cool add-on but I like it old school, sometimes I do not even close it entirely

The boot is for everyone who likes slighly stiffer freestyle and freeride boots, I even do jibbing with it. I don’t miss any "fast-track" or two-zone Boa “upgrade” because I just take my time when I am about to go Snowboarding - there is simply no time to hurry in life ;)

Comfy boots, but according to the size chart I am size 28cm, but 28 or 28.5 were really tight, so order also 29cm and they are just about ok, probably will loosen up little bit which is good, because maybe 29.5cm would be better but over time more loose. So size up at least 2 sizes, the sizing is way off.
There is almost no heel lift, but other boots like from Rome, Salomon seem to be better in terms of heel lift. Also would prefer to have laces all the way up instead of the external strap, cause you can tighten the laces better. Also the internal laces could go higher and there is no velcro on the top part of the liner so at the top of the boot it feels more loose then other boots.

I'm 33 years old, ride resort, off-Piste, Backcountry. I like responsive boots. I don't ride the park anymore.

I ordered these boots on Blue Tomato. Shipping went very fast!
I ordered these in 26.5 Mondo as my feet are 26.5 and they fit true to size.
They will pack out more once I've ridden them more.

The fit is excellent, they are on the stiffer side wich I don't mind. As said before, they will pack out more.
Heelhold is very good!
As they will go softer when used more I will use the flex boosters from Deeluxe!
Maybe for the Future Blue Tomato will sell those to?

Overall very good boot, great fit, great heel hold, great response!
