Sage Kotsenburg's new standard

The Orton started with an idea: K2 approached team rider Sage Kotsenburg with a new concept for building a snowboard boot, and the result is this unisex boot for freeride, freestyle and powder. At its heart is a one-piece rubber lower with integrated mesh, a first in snowboarding. Fewer seams and fewer parts make it seriously durable and waterproof, so your feet stay warm and dry all day. Sage spent over 100 days testing and refining the boot, and it was also put through its paces by K2 staff, team riders, backcountry guides and the film crew.

Details for the bootpack and the ride down
Two BOA dials control the upper and lower shell separately, so the Orton adapts to feet of all shapes and sizes. The H5 dial ejects on a hard impact and pops straight back in. The soft TX3 lace spreads tension more evenly across the shell than a steel lace. An asymmetric rip-stop lace cover with a gaiter hook keeps snow out, and the Vibram outsole delivers grip in the bootpack. Harshmellow in the midsole and insole damps vibration, while the heat-mouldable Intuition liner keeps your foot warm, dry and comfortable.
