What happens when freeride legend Jeremy Jones collaborates with surf shaper Chris Christenson? You’ll get a snowboard to surf pow lines and a fun machine for the whole mountain. Exactly that’s the Mind Expander. The board is fun in every terrain and gives you a surf feeling you never knew before when snowboarding. As Jeremy likes to explore every unknown spot in the backcountry, the Mind Expander is of course also available as a splitboard.

Shape
The sidecut and flex, as well as the inserts of the Hybrid Directional Shape, are moved to the back. In deep snow the blunt nose makes sure less snow comes over the sides of your nose than it would with a regular shape. This means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose, without the extra weight. Edges like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech 1.0 improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.
 
Profile
Custom tip/tail rocker profile designed by surf shaper Chris Christenson for the Mind Expander. The nose rocker starts just inside of the front inserts and the tail rocker starts just at the back inserts. When you weight the tail of the board the nose ramps up out of the snow for insane float on the deepest days. These subtle rocker contours match a Christenson surfboard rocker profile.
 
Construction
The heart of the Mind Expander Split is the dual-density full premium wood Control Split Core designed specifically for splitboards. 2:1 paulownia to poplar stringer ratio keeps core light yet ultra damp. A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fibreglass laminate provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride. The Bio-plastic topsheet is made from Castor beans. This eco-material is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant and water/snow repellent (snow sticks less to topsheet). The Sintered 9900 Base, made of Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon is easy to repair thanks to the UHMW-PE. All Jones Snowboards are factory tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.

Karakoram Clips
Jones' splitboards feature Karakoram K-Clips plus tip and tail hooks. Adjustable tension K-clips increase the board's torsional stiffness.

Quick Tension Tail
The Quick Tension Tail is a built-in climbing skin tension system that uses a pre-cut notch which eliminates the need for a traditional skin tail clip.
