Almost Skateboards fue fundada en 2003 por dos de los skaters más creativos e influyentes del planeta: Daewon Song y Rodney Mullen. Desde entonces, la compañía californiana ha impulsado los métodos clásicos de construcción de tablas de skate utilizando las 7 y 8 capas y la fibra de carbono con resina epoxy. El resultado es una de las tablas más estables y ligeras del mercado.
Las tablas con construcción R7 están encoladas con resina epoxy en vez de con la cola tradicional al agua. Esto hace que la tabla sea más ligera y tenga un pop mejor y más duradero.
