Impala skate-squad

Impala is not only a skate brand but also a worldwide community for everyone who loves to skate. Whether it is at the beach, in the streets, in the local skate park or in the city. Impala wants to bring more women to skateboarding and empowers them throughout their journey. They motivate every woman to face their fears and to step into their power, thanks to skateboarding. The community keeps growing as Impala connects women around the world through the sport and their shared passions.

Co-founder Anika Gibbs:

Unique skateboards for unique women

Backed with 30 years of experience in the field of surf, skate and women’s streetwear, the founder of Impala created a product, made from high-quality components. The skateboards are designed for comfort and have a fair price which makes them accessible for most. The shape of the products is modern and the styles are creative and artsy. The brand collaborates with female artists such as Pea the Fear-y, Martina Martian and Grace Miceli to design unique and colourful skateboard decks. The skateboards just make you want to skateboard with your friends! Fun is guaranteed.

The skateboards are made by pressing thin layers of wood together. Each layer is called a ‘ply’. Epoxy-resin Glue, which is a glue that makes the skateboards lighter, holds each plies together. The glue is longer lasting and stronger than usual glue and allows using less of it. Furthermore, Epoxy-resin is superior to the industry standard water-based glue.

Good for you & Good for the environment

Impala states that they care about their impact and endeavour to create a product that is conscious of this. All products are PETA- approved and vegan. Throughout all stages of design and production, the brand is mindful of every detail, from the materials to the manufacturing processes.

Impala is working together with charities and causes that they feel passionate about and that align with their mission and values. Some of the charities that protect and empower women include “dangerous females (AUS)”, “Decks for Chance”, “Good World Power of Peace” (USA), “Boarding for Breast Cancer” (USA) and more. Their skateboards not only look good, but ARE good and DO good.

As the brand cares a lot for our planet, they also collaborate with the National Forest Foundation (NFF). NFF has a tree-planting program and Impala donates to it by planting three trees for every tree they harvest in the making of the skateboards.
