Your new skateboard deck from Blue Tomato

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skater, at Blue Tomato you'll find skateboard decks that impress with both their quality and design. A skateboard deck isn't just a piece of wood; its shape, length, width and concave determine how well your board performs. Be inspired by our large selection and find the deck that suits your style.

Material and construction

Most of our decks are made of several layers of maple wood bonded with epoxy resin, which gives them exceptional stability and durability. Advanced models, such as those from Santa Cruz and Element, incorporate materials such as fibreglass and carbon to further increase their resilience.

Find the optimal skateboard width

The width of the deck is crucial and should be adapted to your shoe size and preferred skating style:

  • Narrow decks (7.5‘ to 8’) are ideal for street skateboarding as they allow for quick flips and great flexibility.
  • Medium widths (8‘ to 8.5’) are versatile all-rounders, perfect for mini ramps and skate parks.
  • Wide decks (over 8.5") are best for cruising in bowls, halfpipes and on larger ramps.

Concave – important for performance

The concave, i.e. the curvature of the deck, influences how well you can perform tricks:

  • Low concave offers stability in bowls and on ramps.
  • Medium concave is ideal for a good balance between flip tricks and stability.
  • High concave makes flip tricks and technical skating easier.

All parts for your skateboard

To complete your skateboard, you will need the following parts in addition to the deck:

  • Trucks: These connect the wheels to the deck and should be about as wide as the deck itself.
  • Wheels: The choice of wheels depends on your skating environment; harder wheels are faster on smooth surfaces, while softer wheels offer more grip and comfort on rougher terrain.
  • Bearings: These ensure that your wheels run smoothly.
  • Griptape: This is stuck to the deck and provides the necessary grip for your shoes.
