Patagonia R1 Yulex Chest Zip Wetsuit - highly elastic wetsuit with warm thermal lining
Patagonia's neoprene-free Yulex® wetsuits are made in a Fair Trade-Certified™ factory and consist of 85 % natural rubber and 15 % synthetic rubber by polymer content. They replace a petroleum-based material with a plant-based material and offer the same warmth and performance characteristics as conventional stretch neoprene. At the same time, they reduce CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process by up to 80 %. Manufactured from materials certified by the Rainforest Alliance Forest Stewardship Council®, Patagonia mixes natural rubber with chlorine-free synthetic rubber to enhance ozone and UV resistance and to meet its stringent strength, elongation, and durability requirements.
- Elastic material with a polymer content of 85 % Yulex™ natural rubber and 15 % chlorine-free synthetic rubber
- The natural rubber has an FSC® certificate from the Rainforest Alliance.
- Torso and thighs with spun-dyed microgrid thermal lining made from 95 % polyester (51 % recycled) and 5 % recycled elastane that dries quickly and is super warm and supple
- Elastic, spun-dyed lining in sleeves and legs with solvent-free AquaA™ adhesive
- All seams are sealed from the outside to maximise tightness and durability
- Triple taped blind seams throughout, additionally taped with a comfortable thin tape from the inside
- Asymmetrical front flap with replaceable, stainless steel Salmi® Zipper
- Easily accessible lanyard inside
- Robust, supple Supratex knee pads and cuffs

- Suitable for suggested water temperatures of 16°C-18°C
