The ASCENT 30 AVABAG is the ideal airbag backpack for longer ski tours.

Designed around the AVABAG system there is 30 liters of usable volume to carry everything you need – safety equipment, a hydration system, a change of clothes and a snack, everything has its place!
This ski touring backpack is equipped with the AVABAG airbag system developed by ORTOVOX: the system weighs only 690 grams, is extremely compact, removable and can easily be activated again and again without the cartridge attached. This allows for activation training to prepare for quick and correct action in an emergency.
A ski touring backpack not only needs to be functional – it also has to be comfortable, especially on long tours. With the ASCENT 30, high wear comfort is ensured by the foam moulded 3D back system, which is both lightweight and strong. The avalanche backpack also boasts various features: ice axe and hiking pole fastening, circumferential zipper for quick access to equipment, diagonal ski attachment for greater wear comfort and much more!

I was thinking about getting an avalanche airbag for almost a year because I love freeriding and as I know the risk of it I wanted to have a proper system with high quality. Therefore, getting an Ortovox Ascent was clearly the right choice. With the 30L I am super happy and the uni size fits perfectly for an average guy like me (75kg, 176cm). I was doing just a small hike (about 2 hours) to gain first impressions of the backpack. It was a beautiful day, sun was shining and a little bit of new snow. While hiking I was positively surprised by the light weight of it and there was enough room for all the gears like snowboard, shovel, water bottle, food, etc... What I really like about the Ortovox avalanche system is that you can try to release the airbag without actually initiating a blow up. This makes it easier to release it properly in case of emergency. The lack of an included back protector might be the only downside of this product but anyways I do freeriding without one and from my point of view it couldn't replace a proper protector. I was really thinking about buying this backpack for a long time and I am super happy that I invested in this massive backpack that is probably able to store food and stuff to live for a few days on the mountain. I recommend this product to anyone who loves spending time in the nature up high and is aware of its power.

Da es um die Sicherheit geht ist mir bei Laiwinenrucksäcken die Verarbeitung und der Qualitätsstandart sehr wichtig. Mit zahlreichen Features und der Auslösetest-Funktion verstärtkt sich das Vertrauen ins das Produkt umso mehr.

Ich habe mich bewusst für die 30 Liter Variante entschieden um genug Stauraum für Ersatz Gewand, Jause, Getränke und der weiteren Lawinenausrüstung (Schaufel, Sonde) zu haben. Trotz der Größe ist das Gewicht sehr gering und verkraftbar für längere Touren am Berg. Im Ernstfall bin ich durch das Üben mit dem AVABAG System perfekt gewappnet.

Meine Versicherungsempfehlung für jeden passionierten Freerider, Tourengeher und Neuligen die mit solchen Produkten noch nicht vertraut sind und Übung benötigen für den Ernstfall.
