I have been wearing the Shanes on a near-daily basis; at work and when riding my skateboard. The leather upper has remained unblemished and the sole is still in one piece. There have not been any issues with my shoes stretching out or losing their shape too quickly (this has happened with cheaper NIKE SBs in the past). The sole is grippy and responsive when I am skating. My personal issue would be with the interior padding - the shoe feels hard and boxy. Although I expected this with a shoe that is constructed like the Nike Shanes (and not everyone will like it - especially some skaters that are used to more traditional, padded skate shoes), it does feel like it goes a little too far in this direction. A unique feature of the shoe is the possibility to lace it up in two different configurations based on personal preference - but I haven't tried that out yet.
I can recommend this model to anyone that is looking for a shoe similar to the Nike SB Janoskis, yet is different. Both have similar styling and materials but I definitely prefer the logo on the Shanes. The blue colorway is eye-catching and unique, but tastefully understated. Just be aware that the shoe has a narrow fit and the relatively thin padding might not be right for everyone.
