Rome Powder Division Swallowtail 148
Specially calculated shapes for one goal: pure powder performance
The Powder Division collection is the ultimate deep-day quiver, four different boards for different types of terrain and conditions. Each shape and size is designed around a carefully calculated snow displacement formula, all aimed at providing a unique feel for when it all lines up and you’ve got untracked snow.
Riding Style
If you're always on the hunt for untouched pow fields and deep carving turns, then this is your board.
Shape
Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. The Swallowtail increases the effective edge at a short board-length for quick, buoyant, snappy turns in powder.
Profile
The Powder-S 3D Camber profile has an under-foot camber with a large rocker area in the nose. The enormous float of the rockered nose improves manoeuvrability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. The 3D rocker in the nose offers a smooth, super-surfy turn-initiation to your pow lines.
Flex
The medium/stiff flex provides you with a lively board that allows you to stay in control at all speeds and pop over everything.
Construction
TurboRods bring a new approach to loading ollies and building pop. Rome starts by milling channels into the board’s core, then they insert carbon rods that rest freely inside sleeves with a single point of attachment. The rod is anchored only towards the centre area of the board, leaving the outside tip of the rod to flex freely inside the sleeve. This means the TurboRods engage the tip and tail of the board to load maximum spring, creating a more active flex pattern and effectively self-dampening after pop occurs. The Pop Core Matrix features dual zones of ultra-lightweight wood converge with a body of snappy responsive poplar for a buttery yet high-powered flex. The StraightBiax Carbon laminate takes the freestyle-oriented flex of 90-degree biaxial fibres and adds in longitudinal carbon strips to increase ollie power without any unwanted overall stiffness. The workhorse of base materials, the strong and absorbent SinterTrue Base is the first level of speed generating technology. It provides a healthy dose of speed for bombing groomers, lapping park or beating your friends to your favourite stash.

Rome SDS lives and breathes snowboarding and has done so since day one. Seeking to reestablish the true roots of snowboarding, Rome kicked off production is 2001. Their goal was to create a brand that "lives the values of snowboarding and innovates products that increase the one thing that matters most in snowboarding: fun." They have overshot their goal by miles, and as true snowboarders at heart, we are stoked to have them as a part of our team.
