Directional Freeride Fantasy
The prototype of the Gnu Super Progressive Air Machine or SPAM has been tested and tested on all types of pow. After everything was thoroughly checked and small changes were made, it was finally ready for the market. The result is a real freeride machine that's fun in powder and on groomers.
Riding Style
The Super Progressive Air Machine is the freeride board for intermediate and advanced riders who want a bit more!
Shape
The nose of the Directional Shape is slightly longer than the tail, the sidecut and flex are moved to the back as well as the inserts. This gives the board more manoeuvrability, stability and flotation.
This board features Magne-Traction® Serrated Edges, which deliver unreal edge hold and turn ice into powder. The serrated Steak Knife Technology consists of 7 strategically located and sized edge serrations that provide unreal edge hold and control in all conditions: entry serration, mild serration and deepest serrations between the feet.
Profile
The Super Progressive Air Machine is built with the aggressive C3 Camber, a camber engineered for snowboarding with control, precision, and power. It features a mild rocker between the bindings that builds in carve, edge hold, and float, and camber out to the tip and tail for adding pop, stability, precision and control.
Flex
The firm flex of the Super Progressive Air Machine is perfect for charging technical lines, carving on slopes and slashing some deep powder with aggressive control and precision.
Construction
On Mt Weird, GNU continually tests new technology and materials to improve their board design and to create snowboards which are environmentally minded, stronger, lighter and durable. The Super Progressive Air Machine is built with Unreal G2 Construction. The Core is made with Aspen and Paulownia which is balanced lighter, sustainable, FCS certified, strong & poppy. The Tri-ax/Bi-Ax Fibreglass is durable, light and poppy. The Eco-Sublimated Poly Top is robust and environmentally friendly! The Sintered Knife Cut Base is tough, fast and holds wax well, while the UHMW Sidewalls are environmentally friendly.

Gnu have been around since the birth of snowboarding, claiming weird, open minded experimentation to be their job. They have worked with mysterious materials, bizarre geometries, contours and board shapes, far out art and colors, odd terrain and freakish riders to create fantastic progressive snowboards that have helped take snowboarding to wild and magical places. A brand we are happy to call one of the family.
