The Do-It-All Ski from Atomic - top performance in powder and on the piste

The Atomic Bent Chetler 100 is an all-mountain ski with a focus on powder and backcountry skiing. Focus during development: maximum versatility. With a 100 mm waist width, it rides very comfortably in all snow conditions and is a lot of fun everywhere on the mountain. The Bent Chetler 100 offers impressive performance in all conditions and comes with all the necessary features for great powder days.

Riding style
An all-mountain/powder ski for advanced riders and experts. Shape, design, profile and construction have been specially tuned to deliver the best performance in powder. At the same time it offers top performance for hard slopes and versatility for any terrain anywhere on the mountain.

Shape
This ski comes with a Directional Twin shape, the nose is a few millimetres wider than the tail, with a central binding position. Thus the ski offers you the same skiing characteristics forward and switch. However, thanks to the slightly wider nose you get a little more uplift in fresh snow.

Profile
The Powder Rocker profile combines a tip and tail rocker with regular camber under the binding. This profile gives the ski a lot of pop and control. The rocker in nose and tail makes the ski a little more forgiving and gives it more uplift in deep snow.

Construction
The Dura Cap Sidewall construction offers controlled power transmission and excellent edge grip. The rounded shape makes the ski significantly more durable and less susceptible to scratches. The Light Woodcore is made of poplar wood. This woodcore reduces weight while cushioning vibrations and providing smoother riding experience. The HRZN Tech in the tip and tail is reminiscent of the shape of a spoon. It increases the surface of the ski tips by 10 % and provides sensational uplift.

I chose this ski after testing it in Hochkeil in March 2020. I am tall and took the 188 length, which is the longest Atomic make for this ski. I usually ride skis 190 plus and was a little apprehensive to try a shorter ski, but the 188 is fine.

When I first ride the ski I was surprised how snappy and responsive it was. Also that i wasn't missing the extra 5 cm I usually ride. I think this is because of the stiffer flex (than i'm used to) and directional shape. This ski loves to go fast and has a powerful flex throughout. I mounted them with the Shift binding because they are light enough to tour and took them last weekend to Obertauern. I was pleasantly surprised by the grip when skinning and the response in man-made snow. One downside is that I feel these skis are a little too stiff for jibber-like skiers, however, I have seen some of Atomic's pro team riding these in the park.

I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a solid, responsive all-mountain ski. It is still wide enough to tour and ride powder but also rips on harder or slushy snow. Mount it at the freestyle mark if you want to ride more freestyle or further back if you want a more directional style

I am skiing for more than 20 years and I just like to ride all over the mountain. 3 years ago, when I bought my first pair of Atomic Bent Chetler Skis, I was just surprised how good and versatile those skis are. 3 years later, they still provide that high level of awesomness and that is why I am choosing the Bent Chetler 100 as my All-Mountain / Freeride ski.

Those are my second pair of Bent Chetler 100 Skis and they feel even better than before. The powder rocker shape provides great response not only in deep snow, but also on slushy or hard packed snow. You can even ride groomers with this ski, as the sidecut radius is just bellow 20 meters. I am riding the ski in the length of 180 cm as I am exactly 180 cm tall. I feel that the ski could maybe be 4 or 5 cm longer, but unfortunately Atomic is offering them only in the size 180 and 188, without any size in between.

If you are looking for the ultimate all-round ski, which can be used for All-Mountain, Freeride, Park or anything in between, then the Bent Chetler 100 is the right choice for you. For experienced skiers I would recommend to buy the ski in a length that is about 5 cm longer as their height, but for intermediate skiers the same length as the body size will be just perfect.
