Almost Skateboards is in 2003 opgericht door twee van de meest creatieve en inspiratievolle Skaters van de planeet: Daewon Song en Rodney Mullen. Sindsdien brengt het Californische bedrijf de klassieke skateboard constructie methoden naar nieuwe levels door gebruik te maken van een 7 laags, 8 laags en carbon constructies gelijmd met hars epoxy. Dit resulteert in de meest stabiele en lichte decks op de markt.
Decks met een R7 constructie zijn gelijmd met epoxy hars in plaats van de conventionele lijm op waterbasis. Dit resulteert in een lichter gewicht en biedt een betere en langer durende pop.
