Tattoos and Axes

Five skaters, three cities and a week to gather footage. What started as a classic skate tour quickly evolved into a bonding experience rarely seen before. The crew not only came home with a bunch of analog photos on disposable cameras, but also fresh tattoos, new experiences in throwing axes, and one hell of a tour video for you to enjoy.

Cologne, Düsseldorf, Antwerp, Breda and Rotterdam were the locations of our tour last summer to stack clips. We did not expect to also get tattooed, throw axes and go surfing - but let's start at the beginning:

To kick things off, our team riders Marco Kada, Julia Placek, Lenni Pfeiffer, Kalle Zollino and Lina Sevčnikar joined the Game of S.K.A.T.E event in our shop in Cologne, where - coincidentally - a tattoo artist was on site as well. First ink was spilled before even one trick had been filmed. To get a more personal insight into the tour, every rider received a disposable camera to capture their perspective, see gallery below.

The next days were spent exploring spots in and around Düsseldorf, before the crew headed to Antwerp. New city to explore, new shop event to visit and new ink to be put under the skin. By this time, there was none of our riders left without tattoos. More new experiences came along though as we visited a local axe throwing bar. After a long night, it became clear we found the title of our tour video. Still had to stack clips though, so we continued our way to Breda, as we were finishing the trip with the Pier Parade event, but not before we visited Rotterdam, sneaking in a surf session at their local wavepool, before we went to some iconic spots to gather our final clips. Lenni put the concluding nail in with a huge kickflip down a substantial gap, the perfect ending to an amazing tour.

Thanks to Hannes Mautner for amazing photographs and Peter Mader & Nico Schmidt for capturing the moving pictures so beautifully.
