LEON KARSSEN lets the cat out of the bag
His name: Leon Karssen. Vocation: Illustrator. Unmistakable trademarks: sometimes a perfectly formed backside, sometimes it’s his manhood. The most important of all is a cat. The cat is everywhere – printed skating on the t-shirts, on jewellery or shown in portrait. You might have already noticed, the young Dutchman is a little eccentric. He used MS Paint for his illustrations, all of which revolve around outside-the-box motifs and colours.
STRIKING STREETWEAR BACK IN FOCUS
Leon Karssen‘s t-shirts, hoodies and accessories are extraordinary. The story is that Leon Karssen loves to paint, and this drew him to streetwear. He would customize his or his friend’s skateboard griptape. Now, he prefers to print his creations onto fabric. It’s a straightforward attitude which we appreciate. Similar to other streetwear pioneers, Rip’N’Dip, but coming from Holland.
The Leon Karssen collection has something for everyone. There are softer pastel shades or louder bright colours. The collection has comfortable hoodies for cruising around town and high-quality cotton t-shirts with eye-catching graphics. The fact is Leon Karssen makes great looking clothes for skaters (and non-skaters) looking for an authentic, unique look.
You know how much we love this kind of colourful streetwear. That’s why you’ll find a selection of Holland’s finest at Blue Tomato. One tip: Always keep an eye out for the cat.
