Carhartt – Work in Progress

Carhartt WIP

Setting a new standard for classic streetwear, Carhartt WIP took Europe by storm in 1994 thanks to Edwin Faeh. He was the brain behind Carhartt WIP and with a collection of American workwear inspired products he provided something no one else at that time was. The first rugged, clean and stylish collection laid the groundwork for the streetwear giant to gain their foothold in Europe.

The first flagship store opened in London in 1997, closely followed by the establishment of the Carhartt WIP skateboard team. Limited supply and sky rocketing demand made getting your hands on anything from a t-shirt, hoodie, or pair of slacks quite the feat in those days. Building the company slowly but surely, Edwin Faeh made sure to keep his eyes and ears on the ground. Catering to the young, wild and free, Carhartt WIP was soon, and still is, represented in skate shops and skate parks all across Europe.

Weathering the Storm

Who ever said that keeping yourself warm and dry can’t be cool? Carhartt WIP have an abundance of jackets to chose from:

  • Parkas
  • Anoraks
  • Coach jackets
  • Bombers
  • Jeans jackets

With waterproofing, warm padding and everything in-between, there is something for every season and every mood. Clean, authentic styles that will have your back not just for the upcoming season, but for years to come.

A few good things go a long way

There is a difference between quality and quality. Sometimes it is subtle, sometimes it’s like night and day. Carhartt WIP is based on a solid foundation of some of the best products on the market. Whether we are talking about Carhartt WIP t-shirts, sweaters, or lumbersexual button-down shirts – you can be sure that you are getting bang for you buck. With classic silhouettes, thick cotton fabrics, and clean yet stylish designs, no matter what way you sway, Carhartt WIP will help you find your way.

Sid versus Cargo

Carhartt WIP

When it comes to shorts, pants, and dungarees, Carhartt WIP caters just as much to the skater boys and girls as they do the average hipster. Classic styles such as the Sid and the Cargo have been around since inception and aren’t about to go out of style any time soon. Made from sturdy fabrics, these garments are made to stand the test of time and if you ask us, a little wear and tear is what gives them their true charm.

Something for the noggin

Often it takes an accessory to really finish off an outfit. The classic Carhartt WIP square logo lends itself perfectly to 5- and 6-panel caps, as well as folded beanies and the odd fisher hat. Whether you are keeping your head warm or protecting yourself from the sun, you are bound to find something to your liking in the Carhartt WIP headwear treasure chest.

A wonderful blend of music and fashion

Building the brand from the ground up, there was nothing pushing or pulling it in a certain direction. It was allowed to develop organically. As Carhartt WIP gained traction on the streets, it’s no surprise that the music industry followed. What started out as an evolution into hip-hop, has now developed into its own world of Carhartt Music. A big part of what they do is supporting up-and-coming artists, who need that little extra push to be seen or heard. Boy, do we have a lot to thank them for – if it weren’t for Carhartt WIP, we all might never have heard of musical giants such as Aloe Blacc.
