YOW Arica 33" High Performance Series Surfskate

My name is Nusa and I´ve worked with Blue Tomato for 8 years. I´m a surfer with 9 years of experience and I surf shortboards (hybrid and fish). I love spending time in the ocean and when I´m not surfing I try to practice on dry land and for me, the surf skate is the best invention ever.

I use the surf skate to improve my surfing skills, and every time I practice with it, I notice an improvement later in the water. I´m already familiar with different surf skates on the market, but as an advanced surfer I wanted to try the new YOW, because of their front truck. It works with a spring system and is looser than other surf skates on the market. This allows me to practice pumping maneuvers, sharper surfing turns, more advanced snaps and general body position for surfing. It really gives the most genuine comparison to actual surfing, but on the streets. When I first did my favorite 180 reverse trick with it, it felt like siding through air, as the response of the truck made the spin super smooth and made me feel like I have no board underneath. Such an amazing feeling. With this surf skate, there really are no more flat days. I´m super stoked with it and enjoy every minute sliding with it in the skatepark and on empty parking lots.

I would recommend this product to anyone who has prior experiences with surfskating or skateboarding and to anyone who wants to take the surfing to a higher level. It´s a high performance surf skate, so I would not recommend it to total beginners. When buying the product, make sure to check the wheelbase distance and the shape of the deck (concave, rocker), as it makes a difference to the riding style.
