    Product description

Solid edge hold, calm stance, at home anywhere

Whether you're heading out to wander or have a specific peak in your sights, the Nomad is Karakoram's backcountry workhorse, built on the principles of the original SL. The X-Type heelcup is twice as strong as standard aluminium, and CNC core-outs keep the weight down. Its high sidewall supports your boot for better power transfer and grip when side-hilling. The open, fully CNC-machined chassis lets your board flex naturally, with no dead spots underfoot. The C4 highback in Carbon Nyolite saves weight and adds a touch of stiffness to the proven Reactive shape. AirPod straps use independent pressure pods that adapt to your boot and get rid of pressure and pinch points. The buckles are made from recycled carbon fibre that would otherwise have ended up in landfill. Dual Ride-Stride takes you from ride to walk mode with a quarter turn, so you take longer strides on the skin track and save energy for another lap.

Ride Mode 3.0: drop on, close the lever, drop in
Ride Mode 3.0 has a smaller footprint that keeps it especially light, and extra snow clearance makes drop-on changeovers faster. You set the binding on loosely and close the lever. Active Joining pulls the splitboard halves together, keeps your feet spring-loaded to the board and takes all the play out of the system. The result is direct power transfer to the edge and instant response. The cove-and-bead Seam-Lock stops the seam moving underfoot in any direction. In tour mode, independent sleeves rotate on a fixed through-axle for a tight, smooth pivot. The offset cradle lets snow clear as you step in, and the quick-release touring bracket keeps transitions simple. You flip the DualSpeed risers up and down with your pole basket. The Heel-Lock locks your heel on the fly when you need it, such as for skinning downhill, and folds out of the way when you don't. Add Karakoram Quiver-Connectors (accessory) and you can ride the Nomad on your regular snowboards too.
