Turn passion into purpose
Climate change and environmental breakdown are the existential threats facing our planet today. The damage it will cause goes far beyond losing our powder days. It impacts not just our way of life, but our economy, food supply, and drinking water. The impact of climate change is already threatening the lives of millions around the globe with extreme weather events, droughts, and resource-related conflicts.
And that is where Protect Our Winters (POW) comes in. A coalition of campaigners, athletes, creatives, business leaders, and outdoor lovers who come together to drive the cultural change, progressive policies, and sustainability practices we need to preserve the places we love to ski, snowboard, hike, and everything else that makes life good.
Operating in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and 10 countries across Europe we are the leading voice of the outdoor community for climate action. We are proud to partner with Blue Tomato in this critical work, with Blue Tomato donating all the profits from its POW clothing sales to our cause.

How POW works
POW utilises 3 main pillars of action.
- Educate: Knowledge is the first step in taking action. From classrooms to boardrooms POW is there to make sure everyone has the knowledge they need to make a difference.
- Collaborate: We can’t do it on our own. POW builds alliances within the outdoor sector, NGOs across Europe, leading scientists, creatives, athletes, and you, the action sports lovers to create positive change and achieve impact both within the outdoor sports world and beyond.
- Advocate: Real action on climate change is political action. POW takes the voice of the outdoor community to the meeting rooms of Brussels and Washington. We drive systemic changes and environment-first policies in the corridors of power.

Climate action needs everyone. We need the whole outdoor community to get involved and do what they can to turn the threat of climate change around.
What’s the biggest single impact you can have? That’s easy … VOTE!
Voting for representatives who will progress and adopt policies that prioritise climate and environment will secure a better future, both on the mountain and in our everyday lives. Having the right people in power, will facilitate green jobs, maximise food security, provide clean air and water, and ensure biodiversity protection. But that is up to us to make happen!
There are elections all over the globe this year with over 2 billion people taking to the polls, and at POW we are focused first on the EU Elections in June.
