October is breast cancer awareness month - an important topic that unfortunately still receives too little attention. This year, Vans drops a small Breast Cancer Awareness Collection. The collection educate youth on checking their breasts and early detection but to showcase the beauty and strength of those impacted or touched by breast cancer. Moreover, a minimum of $200,000 of the collections proceeds will be donated to CoppaFeel!, a UK-based organization dedicated to educating young people on boob checking, the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and empowering them to speak up when any changes are noticed.
Created by a group of Vans designers, all graphics and illustrations used in the collection were designed in-house to promote inclusion, representation and empowerment.
Featuring a partial print, the Breast Cancer Awareness Sk8-Hi also includes sturdy canvas and suede uppers, re-enforced toecaps to withstand repeated wear, padded collars for support and flexibility, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.
