The Ortovox Freerider is a real protector on the mountain because it has a SPS Flex back protector, which makes both a flexible unit and offers extra protection against injuries. Made up of eight pads that remain pleasantly flexible even in the cold, the protector adapts to the body and absorbs any blows. Ortovox uses SAS-TEC as a protective foam which, after external forces, returns the viscoelastic foam to its original shape after a short time.
In contrast to other damping materials, it is also capable of multiple impacts and responds even to low forces. The damping is almost linear, which keeps the strain on the human body low and therefore does not put as much strain on it.
In addition the Freerider offers you a lot of other features which can only make your days in alpine terrain better.
Ortovox came to life with the invention of the first double frequency transceiver to aid in avalanche victim searches. With their passion for keeping skiers and snowboarders safe, Ortovox has grown into one of the biggest producers of avalanche safety gear on the market. In 1995 they added merino underwear to their selection, and we have been hooked ever since!
