The Salomon Ivy is my first boot and I'm more than relieved to have finally settled on a boot after a long way of more experienced snowboards telling me to try on as many boots as I can to find the brand that fits me. Now that I've gone through that process I can finally understand why that is so important, as each brand has different fits, pros and cons. I'm currently a snowboarding beginner and I chose size 8.5. My foot shape is rather narrow, which is also a feature of Salomon boots, people with wider feet tend to have issues with putting on the boot as I learned.
When trying on boots I was urged to take the boot slightly smaller than what felt comfortable to me, as the boot has a liner which would adjust and mold to the shape of my foot. This was probably the biggest insecurity I had when buying the boot as I was literally buying a boot that felt like it was too small for me. I trusted the advice and it payed off, after the first day on the slopes the boot felt comfortable but it did not feel loose on my foot. The boot has a part in the back which is really nicely enclosing the heel, which is probably one of my favourite features next to the double BOA system.
Finding the right boot can be difficult so make sure to try, try, try. However, for people with narrow feet looking for a medium flex boot, the Salomon Ivy has my highest recommendation!
