THE BOARD BY TRAVIS RICE FOR THE NATURAL SELECTION

Travis Rice took the original Orca board and developed it further into a high-performance snowboard for freestyle riding in the backcountry. The Golden Orca's long nose and tail provide massive lift which is ideal for switch takeoffs and landings in deep powder. The directional C2 profile offers stability when shredding in the resort or for fast turns in steep terrain.

Riding style
Backcountry/Freestyle for advanced riders. You consider untouched powder slopes as a snow park with unlimited possibilities? Then this is the right board for you.

Shape
The tapered directional shape is perfect for all-mountain and freeriding. The nose is wider than the tail for controlled turns in any terrain. The additional setback of the bindings gives the board a lot of uplift in powder. The Magne-Traction® technology provides improved edge hold with serrated edges. Especially on icy slopes they unfold their full potential.

Profile
The C2x profile comes with a short rocker between the bindings combined with a large camber underneath the bindings. This combination offers a good edge hold thanks to the camber areas, as well as good lift and unlimited freestyle action without catching an edge thanks to the rocker.

Flex
The medium-stiff flex ensures precise control and fast board response.

Construction
The Firepower construction is the ultimate construction design from Lib Tech: lighter, more environmentally friendly and smoother. The core is made of 50 % aspen and 40 % paulownia for reduced weight with less vibration. 10 % balsa wood additionally reduces the weight. The sintered Eco Sublimated base is very fast, but requires careful maintenance. The topsheet is made from eco-sublimated organic beans. The UHMW sintered sidewalls are another innovation from Lib Tech. The double sintered construction allows for a waterproof, strong and durable construction without toxic ABS. Due to the non-continuous edges on the tip and tail, these areas are protected from damage by the UHMW Tip/Tail Impact Deflection System.

Os snowboards são normalmente entregues prontos a utilizar, com cera na base e cantos ajustados. No entanto, isto é chamado de tuning de fábrica, com durabilidade menor. O teu snowboard deve ser encerado apropriadamente após alguns dias, e feita a manutenção regularmente.

I always wanted to try a libtech board, since the magne-traction edge sounds very interesting. Some people love and some don't. Usually I ride normal camber twin-tips with a freestyle focus. My range is between 156 and 159cm. So I chose the 157 golden orca. I am 182cm tall and weigh around 75kg. I found the board to be super reactive and rather playful. The edge feels quite different than usual. It took me quite a while to get the feeling. But once you get it it feels dope

I rode the board on the slope, slightly back country and in the park. Generally it feels super solid. The materials seem very high end and the board looks & feels high quality. Design is super nice as well :) I believe to you really have to get used to the magne-traction edge. But once you got it you got it. Also I believe that the board might work better for more experienced riders, as it is very reactive and slightly aggressive on the edge.

I definitely can recommend the golden orca. I recommend everyone to at least try the magne-traction to exeperience that particular feeling. However it may take some time to get used to it. Once you are used to it though it's really nice to ride
