Beautiful jacket - atrocious sizing

Was absolutely delighted when this jacket turned up in the post, it's really thick, heavy and warm, yet stylish. Was super excited about it.
BUT. And it's a big but. I was suggested a size Medium on the sizing guide (I'm usually a 12). I'm always wary of these as I have wide hips, so I sized up to a Large to account for this. I couldn't even do it up, and the XL in the colour I wanted is out of stock. A very disappointed return was made.
