Spitfire Formular Four Lock-In 99D 52mm Renkaat

With ledges as my favorite obstacle, I always try to find a way to work on my consistency with getting on top of them. If that goes wrong, the trick is not going to happen. I struggled a lot with locking my back truck in while getting on top of ledges with my previous wheels (Spitfire Formula Four, 52mm). Once a friend bought the Spitfire Lock-Ins, I was hooked on the way she locked both her trucks in on the ledge and I wanted to try them myself. I bought the Spitfire Formula Four Lock-In 99D 52mm wheels. I am 177 cm with a normal posture. Together with my passion for skating ledges, bump to bumps and hips, I chose the 52mm wheels. They are the perfect size for the street and park skating I do. Not too big, so I would not get wheel bite or too much grip, but also not too small so I can not slip away too easily.

The wheels actually made it easier for me to lock in on ledges and rails. I never tried rail skating before as it used to scare me. But the Lock-Ins made me not slip off the rail immediately. I could feel my trucks locking in more simular, instead of my back truck sliding off the whole time. I feel more secure skating these wheels. Locking in is made easier because of the assymmetrical shape they have. The outside of the wheel is slightly broader, which makes it harder to slide off the ledge. The opposite effect: you get stuck and my 50-50's, for example, got a whole lot longer and faster. Only disadvantage of the wheels is that they are very slippery. If you skate indoor, you can slide away easily. I do not feel this while I am skateboarding outside on (rough) concrete.

If you want to give your ledge and rail game an upgrade, the Spitfire Lock-Ins will give you that extra boost for longer slides and grinds. They give me that extra security to focus more on the trick and not on locking in. I have been skating these wheels ever since I got them and I am planning on getting a new set once they are done.
