Can you still remember your first ever day on a skateboard and how long ago was it?
In 1998 26th May I received my very first board on my birthday – that was a big day for me! Back then I could not realise how much a piece of wood with wheels would so strongly influence my life..

What was the first trick you learnt and would you still call it a trick today?
Sure, an ollie will always be a trick…

What was your dream job as a kid?
As a small kid I wanted to become an inventor – Daniel Düsentrieb was my hero.

What do you your friends say/like/hate about you?
Lots of people know how to value my diplomatic and controlled personality. For others it is a bit too much and say I should let myself go more often and relax a bit more. That is not how I like things – I prefer to have things under control and I don’t like surprises.

Do you have a secret passion?
Along with skating I really enjoy photography, most people know this. What many don’t know is that I really enjoy hiking and mountain climbing and that I am also a passionate cook.

Who is your favourite skater of all time/who is currently active?
I like people who instead of moaning about everything prefer to take something in the hand and use their energy to do something positive for the scene and do something for the next generation – this does not have to mean big names!

Where do you like to go riding most?
I mostly like to go ride with friends around the city of Vienna.

Where do you want to be in 5 years time?
I want to be able to remain active as a professional skater for as long as possible. In addition I would like to further build on my role behind the scenes of the skateboarding.

We have invited ourselves to your house for dinner, what are you going to cook for us?
A homemade beef soup with Grießnockerl (Austrian speciality) for starters, then a boiled shoulder of pork with rosti, chive sauce and apple horse radish. The dessert will be left in the capable hands of my girlfriend Caro – this is her speciality.

What are you really scared of?
Hot air balloons.

Are you already being recognised on the street with kids asking for autographs?
Yes, it happens quite often …

Have you ever googled yourself?
Of course! I have to annually show my sponsors what I have achieved and which media presence I received. The internet has become a significant factor in the evaluation of my media value.

What is the name of the crew you ride with?
Through my continuous work on Trottoir magazine I am constantly on the road with lots of different crews from Vienna. However I cannot say that I have a particular crew which I always skate with. Anybody is welcome to come along, as long as the motivation is there.

Can you remember your first skateboard?
Yes, it was a Toy Machine deck with Gullwing trucks – I still have the board at home actually.
