UNION Strata Snowboard Bindings

Hi I am Lisa, I am an all mountain snowboarder and recently started to do some more freestyle. I am wearing snowboard boots size 41 and bought this product in size medium. I bought this product because the quality of the bindings is excellent and the price quality ratio is very good. The flex of these binding are on an average level so that makes them perfect for all round snowboarding. The straps will fit perfectly on every snowboard boot because of the comfortable and flexible material, also the buckles are made from magnesium what makes them very durable. The heelcup is made from extruded 3D aluminum what makes them strong and direct. The heelcup is adjustable from the baseplate so you can put your boot exactly in the middle. The snow does not stick on your baseplate because of the Fused Vaporlite bushing system.

I tested the product on an indoor slope. I was really happy with the reaction of the bindings and the straps wich you could bearly feel. The highback felt good on a few fast runs and gave me enough flex for a few runs in the park. The mini disk in the baseplate gave me a maximum flex in my board because the frame of the binding is in less contact with the board.

Overall this is a really nice binding and is suitable for a lot of different people and riding styles. I definitely would recommend this binding and had a good experience :)

Hi i am Lianne 26 years old and I have been snowboarding for about 8 years. My riding style can be different every day, somethimes I spent my days just cruising the slopes, but I also love to ride park and improve my tricks on rails and kickers, but if there is some fresh pow somewhere then that's the only place you will find me on the mountain. So I was looking for a binding that could do it all. In my opinion that is the union strata binding. I am 183cm and about 68kg. My snowboard is the ride Hellcat 154cm and my boots are Nitro venture pro in size 26.5. With these bindings in size M a very nice combination.

I was snowboarding in Kaprun to test it in some powder and I took it to Leogang Nitro snowpark to see how it would function there. And it did not disappoint. A lot of control when riding in powder but it gives you that flexibility you are looking for when riding the park.
The forma elite ankle strap fits perfectly and makes the binding super responsive. But with the more flexible highback its still good for buttering and playing around.
The base plate is a little bit bigger then other bindings and doesn't fully fit with the toeside of my boot and in the beginning it felt a bit weird, but it seems that because of that the binding is in more contact with the board it responds more directly. So now that I have gotten used to riding this it is actually really nice!

If you are looking for a premium allround binding I would definitely recommend this product. All mountain, park and powder it gives you stability and flexibility at the same time.

Die Union Strata liegt vom Flex her genau zwischen der Force und der Atlas und ergänzt das Union Lineup perfekt. Ich nutze sie auf meinem Powderboard, da hier die Reaktivität für Treeruns benötigt wird, gleichzeitig ist sie aber nicht zu aggressiv, um nicht auch verspielt zu sein. Das Fußbett ist sehr bequem, ohne dabei zu weich zu sein - Vibrationen werden aber sehr gut geschluckt! Die Straps passen sich super an den Boot an und hinterlassen keine Druckstellen. Achtung, die Minidisk ist nicht kompatibel mit den alten 4x4 Insert-Mustern, dafür aber mit dem Channel von Burton und natürlich den modernen 4x2 Insert-Mustern.
Anfängern würde ich die Bindung nicht unbedingt empfehlen, da sie doch vergleichsweise steif ist, also auch nicht super fehlerverzeihend. Für Fortgeschrittene, die etwas mehr Response wollen, aber nicht gleich das Level der Atlas oder noch härterer Bindungen suchen, ist die Strata definitiv eine sehr gute Wahl!

Die Union Strata überzeugte mich direkt beim ersten fahren durch den sehr guten Halt! Durch den etwas härteren Flex bietet Sie eine direkte Kraftübertragung und ein mega Fahrgefühl. Allerdings fällt Sie recht groß aus. Fahre Boots in Größe 45 und die L Bindung ist etwas zu groß! Ansonsten absolute Kaufempfehlung !

Wie immer von Union, geile Bindung. Bin die Bindung letztes Jahr schon Probe gefahren und ab da stand für mich fest die Bindung muss zu meinem Setup gehören. Die Bindung ist leicht was auch beim fahren gleich auffällt, die Bindung ist etwas härter, dadurch hast du die Kontrolle im Park wie auch auf der Piste.

Ich habe mir die Bindung Größe M zu meinem Capita DOA gekauft. Meine Wahl fiel auf die neue Union Strata signature Bindung von Torstein Horgmor , Da dies meine dritte Union Bindung ist und ich mehr als begeistert vom Hersteller bin und ich auf der Suche nach einer leichten, schlanken und vor allem robusten Bindung war, konnte ich hiermit nach zwei Tagen am Berg die Bindung im jedem Terrain testen, ob Park oder abseits der Piste . Das Boardgefühl zwischen Bindung und Board ist unbeschreiblich nach außen steif und innen etwas weicher für mich ein perfektes Verhältnis zwischen weich, hart. Für verspielte Tweeks perfekt geeignet der Highback hart und sehr direkt. Die Straps sind ohne Werkzeug leicht an den Boot anzupassen. Die Toestrapps bringen den Boot genau richtig in den Fersenhalt . Nach hinten etwas steif und etwas weicher für mich ein perfektes Verhältnis zwischen weich, verspielt und hart und sehr direkt. Anderes Fahrgefühl absolute Kontrolle schnelle Reaktionszeit.

Wurden die Probleme mit den Ankle-Straps mittlerweile behoben?

Ich besitze das 19/20er Modell (Grösse M, bei Schuhgrösse 41). Nach 4 Tagen riss die Kunststoffverbindung zwischen Ankle-Strap und Ratsche. Nach einer behelfsmässigen Reparatur riss nach kurzer Zeit auch dieselbe Stelle auf der anderen Seite.

Seit Februar 2020 versuche ich vergebens von Union/Blue Tomato passende Ersatzteile zu bekommen (Kontaktformular, acht Emails und ein Anruf - Stand 26.10.2020).

Mir wurden zwei Mal «falsche» Straps zugeschickt, obwohl ich mit Fotos usw. darauf aufmerksam gemacht habe, welcher Strap-Typ für eine Reparatur notwendig wären (zugeschickt wurden Union Forma Ankle Straps anstatt Union Exoframe 2.0 Ankle Straps – diese lassen sich nicht ohne weiteres an die bestehende Bindung montieren - die Schraubenverbindung zur Bindung ist anders).

Sei es nun ein Materialfahler in der Charge (kein Problem- das kann vorkommen) oder ein Konstruktionsfehler – ich warte noch immer auf Ersatzteile, seit über 8 Monaten.

Entsprechend würde ich die Bindung nicht weiter Empfehlen.
