Ultralight splitboard binding for even more comfort on the ascent

The new Union Explorer FC 2022 is designed to meet the most selective demands on your splitboard missions. Thanks to the exclusive Union Forged Carbon heel cup, the Explorer FC weighs 70 grams less than the traditional Explorer binding. This way you save energy already during the ascent for an enjoyable descent.

Split Pin System
The Union Split System is simple and very quick to use. To switch to ride mode, simply place the binding on the disc mounted to the board, slide the long pin under the baseplate and you're done. To change to walk mode, pull the pin out again, place the binding on the touring brackets and push the pin back in.

Highback
The EXP2 Highback was developed specifically for splitboarding. It comes with a quick release for the tilt angle (Forward Lean). This allows you to switch from touring to ride mode with just one hand movement.

Baseplate
Mixed with carbon, SB2 Duraflex is lighter and much stiffer than typical glass reinforced nylon parts. The footbed has a special Non-Stick™ coating. This prevents ice from forming on the footbed and highback.

Straps
The ExoFrame 5.0 ankle straps are the ultimate connection between boot and binding. The progressive flex allows for quick response and power transfer for demanding riding at high speeds. The thermoplastic anti-slip material of the wide TS-4.0 toe straps keep your boots bombproof and secure in the binding. The Magnesium S1 buckles are made of magnesium and aluminum. A good combination of lightness and stability.

Not satisfying

Bindung ist sehr leicht, aber auch sehr weich. Die Harscheisen können nicht arretiert werden und können sich jederzeit lösen. Das ist unverantwortlich!
Weiter ist bei meiner Bindung bei der 4ten Tour eine Schnalle abgerissen.
Beim Umbau von "Gehen" zu "Fahren" klemmt der eine Pin dermassen, dass ich ihn mit Hilfe des anderen Pins und dem Skistock durchschlagen musste - grauenhaft.
Ich würde diese Bindung auf keinen Fall wieder kaufen.
