Four levels, one guiding principle: Perceive – Assess – Decide
Whether you're just getting a first taste or have been out in the terrain for years – you'll find your level with us:
- SESSION / Level 1 – your entry into off-piste freeride terrain close to the slopes
- NEXT LEVEL / Level 2 – from here you'll head into open terrain with touring skis or a splitboard
- BACKCOUNTRY PRO / Level 3 – completely lift-free, entirely relying on yourself and your skills
- ALPINE PROFESSIONALS / Level 4 – high-alpine and glaciated terrain, for those who want to go even higher
22 training days in total, spread across the most beautiful freeride spots in Austria – accompanied by experienced mountain and snowboard guides as well as our risk'n'fun trainers.
risk’n’fun FREERIDE is kicking off the winter season, and once again we're doing so together with Blue Tomato as part of the Freeride Film Festival. To help you get ready for the new season, our free Freeride Starter Workshops will return in November, taking place before selected screenings of the Freeride Film Festival.
What can you expect?
True to the motto "Lots of questions – lots of answers," the risk’n’fun team will work together with you and your shred buddies on the most important aspects of freeriding. During these two-hour workshops, you'll get an introduction to the world of risk’n’fun, receive valuable expert insights, and learn practical skills such as how to read an avalanche bulletin or pack your backpack efficiently. Two packed hours of knowledge, practical tips, and expert know-how, followed directly by an evening at the Freeride Film Festival.
risk’n’fun will be joining the FFF at the following tour stops:
Wed, 11 Nov 2026 | Munich
Thu, 12 Nov 2026 | Vienna
Fri, 13 Nov 2026 | Innsbruck (workshop takes place next door at Montagu)
Sat, 21 Nov 2026 | Saalfelden
You can register here.
From mid-December onwards, the DROP IN Days will be back in the backcountry. These days are a great opportunity to kick off the winter season alongside the risk’n’fun team and refresh your backcountry skills in real terrain. Topics include proper probing and shoveling techniques, avalanche transceiver (beacon) use, understanding and interpreting avalanche bulletins, and plenty of input on communication and group dynamics.
If you're looking for even more in-depth training, numerous educational and coaching sessions will be available from January through March.
