Product description
Finally: a freeride snowboard from Public
The Public Research has been part of the lineup for two years, offering Freeride performance with a hint of Freestyle. Its directional shape with taper ensures effortless float in powder, while the refined construction featuring carbon reinforcements provides snap and pop. The lightweight Poplar Light Core and sintered base complete the Research, making it the ideal board for exploring untouched backcountry lines.
Riding Style
The Research is designed for freeriders who enjoy dynamic and playful runs. Its directional shape with taper provides maximum float in powder, while carbon elements enhance responsiveness for a powerful and aggressive riding experience – ideal for riders seeking precision and control.
Shape
The directional shape with an elongated nose offers exceptional float in deep snow while maintaining control at high speeds. The tapered tail (narrower than the nose) allows for smooth turn initiation while keeping stability and speed in check. Thanks to its increased volume in the front, the Research enables effortless turns in deep snow, significantly enhancing float.
Profile
Rocker zones in the nose and tail make this board playful and forgiving, while the camber between the bindings ensures excellent edge control and responsiveness.
Flex
The medium-stiff flex is ideally suited for a freeride design. It’s stable enough for powerful turns and high-speed descents while remaining flexible enough for a controlled and playful ride.
Construction
The Poplar Light Core provides a lightweight yet reliable and responsive ride. Carbon stringers deliver powerful pop and increased stability, while the Carbon V laminate enhances power transfer and precision. Urethane sidewalls absorb vibrations and protect the board from impacts in challenging terrain. The sintered base ensures high-speed performance and excellent wax absorption, making it ideal for long powder runs and technical descents.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
