Slimmer design
The redesigned shape is more compact and with the eyelet on the base you can quickly replace the mounts. A new side flap makes battery replacement even faster and the lens is now twice as shock resistant.

HyperSmooth 2.0
Fluid is now even more fluid. Now the HERO8 Black has three stabilisation stages: On, High and Boost. So you can choose the best option for every situation. Get the largest possible field of view or turbo in to get the smoothest HERO camera video ever. In addition, HyperSmooth works with all resolutions and frame rates and provides an app-internal horizontal horizon alignment.

TimeWarp 2.0 
Create extremely stabilised time-lapse videos during your activity. TimeWarp now also automatically adjusts speed based on motion, scene detection and lighting conditions. You can even reduce the effect to real time, enjoy that special moment, and then tap to speed it up again.

LiveBurst
It lets you capture moments 1.5 seconds before and after shooting so you can choose the best frame for the perfect photo - or a fantastic shareable video.

SuperPhoto + HDR
Take stunning 12 MP photos with enhanced HDR - in motion or at rest - with less blur and crisp detail even in low light.

Time-lapse video at night
Record great nighttime 4K, 2.7K 4:3, 1440p, or 1080p time-lapse videos, all processed directly in the camera.

Digital Lenses
The field of view is easy to set by selecting a new digital lens. Now you can choose between "Narrow", "Linear", "Wide" and "SuperView".

Live streaming in 1080p 
Share the moment. Stream live in 1080p on social networks, use HyperSmooth stabilisation when transferring via the GoPro app and save your recordings to your SD card to watch later.  

Voice control 
With 14 voice commands like "GoPro, take a picture" you have your hands free. Even if the camera is turned off, you can say: "Turn on GoPro". HERO8 Black understands English (US, UK, AU and India), Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (BR), Russian, Spanish (EU and NA) and Swedish.
