Freestyle performance redefined

Powerful jumps and perfectly cushioned landings. The Union Ultra uses Union's latest manufacturing processes to revolutionise the way a freestyle binding should ride. The binding comes with all-new technologies like the 3-piece S11 Asym Baseplate, an S15 Ultra Duraflex Highback, Forma X Ankle Straps and reinforced magnesium ratchets with steel backing.

Highback
The multi-piece S15 Ultra Duraflex Highback is made from Duraflex ST Nylon for enhanced freestyle-oriented flex. The separate Molecular Highback Bushing provides a preloaded feel for fast edge changes and a comfortable, cushioned riding experience.

Baseplate
The three-piece S11 Asym baseplate features an asymmetrical design for increased torsional board flex. The heelcup is fixed with Astro washers to prevent slippage. The Molecular Bushing System offers increased cushioning and rebound on hard landings and is 15 % lighter than the regular Fused Vaporlite System. The TPE outsole is resistant to ice and snow and does not need to be glued to the baseplate. The special non-stick coating prevents ice from forming on the footbed.

Straps
The Forma X Ankle Strap is the ultimate connection between boot and binding. The Exoframe frame enables a fast response and power transmission. The padded inside offers maximum comfort. Simple, lightweight, durable - The TS 4.0+ toe straps keep your boots bombproof and secure in the binding without you even knowing it's there. The magnesium S1 / steel buckles offer a good combination of low weight and maximum stability. Magnesium is very light, the steel base makes the construction extremely durable.

Tested these bindings in the Dutch indoor slopes .I was always a big fan of Union bindings generally all of the models work really well for my needs but that exact one is better than ever. The 3-piece S11 Asym Baseplate, S15 Ultra Duraflex Highback, Forma X Ankle Straps makes it perfect and easy to use the biggest benefit of those is the cushiony base proving a great dampening and shock absorb feeling .a great all mountain freestyle binding lightweight and solid for the higher demands of riders !

An overall great experience riding these beauties lightweight and supportive it's probably the best all mountain freestyle binding ever owned performs great without problems etc great feature is the Molecular Bushing System offers increased cushioning and rebound on hard landings along with the special non-stick coating prevents ice from forming on the footbed.

I have ridden the Union Strata for years, and the Force and Atlas as well, so I already know that Union bindings won't disappoint me. When I had the chance to try the brandnew Ultras, I immediately fell in love. Size Medium fits my US 9.5 boots perfectly, just like it always has.

The dampening on this new model is really unparalleled. The new tech they use for the baseplate really does its job well and reduces any shatter that a rough terrain or icy slope brings to you board. I've never felt more comfortable stepping into snowboard bindings before, yet the reaction and power transmission is perfect. The straps are very minimalistic and adapt well to the boots. The highback has a built-in cushion and allows for all kinds of tweaks, but when you need it to transfer the force onto your edge, it's immediately there without feeling aggressive. On the baseplate, they added some rubbery material which basically grips your boot from the bottom, meaning no more slipping around inside your bindings even when your straps are still open. Ridiculous!

I though the Strata was already a perfect freestyle binding, but the Ultra just took the top spot for me. It's super easy to ride in, the most comfortable I've ever witnessed and takes you from surfy powder turns all the way to rails if you'd like. If you like medium flexing bindings and want the best feeling ever, the Ultra should be on top of your list.
