Proven geometries and rugged construction, the Gnu Hyak BTX 2019 is ready to go!

Proven geometries and rugged construction, the Hyak is ready for everything
Its value is inherent in its design. The Hyak twin shape will take you for a ride of infinite opportunity either direction you choose to ride it. Heritage print top material, Verzure instantly sheds snow for more eyes on the rideable art brought to you by Seattle artist Robert Hardgrave. This board will turn heads.

Riding style
Ideal for beginners to experts who are looking for an all terrain freestyle board that is easy to progress on should have a look at the Hyak.

Shape
This directional twin will provide you with some extra float in the deep fluffy stuff while still providing excellent switch riding capabilities. Due to the setback of the bindings towards the tail, the nose gets a little bit longer, while the shape of nose and tail is still symmetric. Take advantage of the Magne-Traction edges to effortlessly link turns that look and feel nice whether they are at high speeds or slow and controlled. The Magne-Traction serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain, especially on hard pack and ice. They turn ice into powder.

Profile
Banana Technology BTX means rocker between your feet combined with a flat to mild camber out to the contact points on tip and tail. Easy riding and turning, great jibbing and epic float in pow with full contact and control in all conditions.

Flex
The medium flex makes this board suited for everything. Rip pow, press your way through jibs, spin your body in weird ways and carve up everything from slush to ice.

Construction
The Co-Extruded Base is hard, fast and virtually maintenance free. A Gnu sublimation system exclusive oddity, that loves a good wax but still slides great even when you forget to. The core consists of Aspen/Columbian and Gold Alloy woods, this makes the core lightweight, sustainable, strong and poppy. Bi-ax and Tri-ax fiberglass surrounds the Woodcore and adds the needed stiffness and durability. The Ultra High Molecular Weight exterior sidewalls made from soy-based elastomer are laminated to five internal wood layers for totally bombproof sidewalls. The Verzure Poly Topsheet is very tough, sheds off the snow and adds some extra traction to avoid slipping off with your boots.

Subject to alterations according to the manufacturer. Image is non-binding.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.

About Gnu

Gnu have been around since the birth of snowboarding, claiming weird, open minded experimentation to be their job. They have worked with mysterious materials, bizarre geometries, contours and board shapes, far out art and colors, odd terrain and freakish riders to create fantastic progressive snowboards that have helped take snowboarding to wild and magical places. A brand we are happy to call one of the family.
