Product description
Your secret weapon for tight tree runs
Burton’s crew loves snowboarding – and naturally, they are obsessed with riding their home turf in Vermont. That’s where tight tree lines and variable snow are part of everyday life. That's why Burton developed the Family Tree Hometown Hero: a nimble freeride board with power and float, built to charge through it all.
Riding Style
The Hometown Hero is made for intermediate to expert freeriders looking for precision in the trees, float in powder, and stability in any terrain.
Shape
The directional shape features a slightly longer nose, which enhances float and control. The Balanced Freeride Geometry combines a setback camber with a sidecut centered on your stance, providing a twin-like feel when riding flat, while still offering quick turns and a surfy float when on edge. The 12 mm taper facilitates smooth turn transitions and improves float. Additionally, the Pro-Tip design reduces swing weight, allowing for better maneuverability.
Profile
The directional camber combines a rocker in the nose for more float with a camber under the back foot for power and precision during turns and in variable conditions.
Flex
Its twin flex is perfectly symmetrical from tip to tail for a balanced ride that’s equally versatile, regular, or switch.
Construction
The Super Fly II™ 700G Core uses lighter, stronger woods in targeted zones for pop, stability, and reduced weight. Dualzone™ EGD™ enhances edge hold by aligning the wood grain along the toe and heel edges. 45° Carbon Highlights reduce weight and fine-tune torsional feel for a responsive yet stable ride. The recycled sintered WFO base is highly absorbent, fast, and ultra-durable in all conditions. Infinite Ride™ ensures lasting pop and flex all season long. The Channel® mounting system gives you full control over your stance and is compatible with all major binding systems. Built with Super Sap® Epoxy for a lower-impact ride.

Snowboards are usually delivered ready-to-ride with a waxed base and sharpened edges. However, this so-called factory-tuning is not very durable and your new snowboard should be properly waxed after a few days and maintained on a regular basis.
