Experienced mountain guides and trainers support you in making smart decisions—whether to go for a run or skip it—in the backcountry. The most important thing for us? That you have amazing days in the mountains, with the perfect balance of risk and fun.
And YES – risk’n’fun is also about countless stories, new friendships, and intense days spent outdoors, shredding and enjoying powder. Check your calendar, take a few days off, and come join us. Quality training takes time, and we make sure to give it that time!

Every year, we kick things off just before Christmas with the DROP IN days, where freeriders hit the terrain with mountain guides and trainers. Participants refresh their skills with emergency gear, work with avalanche reports, and practice key backcountry techniques.
From January, the program continues with four progressive training levels, designed to guide freeriders from near-piste powder runs to high-alpine adventures. The guiding principle is: “observe – assess – decide”. Snowboarders and skiers gain the skills and technical know-how to make safe and confident decisions in the mountains. The goal is to expand each participant’s range while fostering awareness of themselves, their crew, and the mountain environment.
Training takes place at top destinations like Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Kühtai, Hochkönig, Tauplitz, Saalbach-Hinterglemm, and Kitzsteinhorn.
For younger adventurers, the LOCALS days invite kids and teens aged 10–16 to explore the mountains with the risk’n’fun team. The focus is on understanding alpine risks, getting familiar with safety equipment, and learning about group dynamics and good communication in the mountains.
Quotes from participants:
Manu MAYER: “risk’n’fun for me is about days outside with a perfect mix of learning and shredding. The experience is hard to describe—it’s just something you have to try yourself ;).”
Bianca SOMAVILLA: “risk’n’fun is the perfect blend of amazing mountain days and lots of learning, giving you the skills and confidence to enjoy the mountains on your own, whether in winter or summer on the bike.”
