UNION Expedition FC

The Expedition FC Splitboard Bindings - bombproof connection and the usual riding performance of high-end Union bindings.

When splitting into the backcountry or taking the ride back down, a bombproof connection plays a big role in both climbing and the descent. The Expedition FC bindings from Union combine the simplicity of Union's Split System with the performance you have come to expect from their high-end Forged Carbon bindings that provide a precise interface to your board. With 500.000 turbostratic fibres per square inch, the benefits of Forged Carbon ensure that no power is lost on the skin up or the ride down. This durable lightweight material is perfectly suited for splitboard binding systems.
Unlike complicated binding systems involving a number of moving parts, the Union Split System functions with just one pin. Pull the pin to change modes, push it in to lock the system in place. When it's time to switch your bindings to climb mode, the most comfortable option is lowering your forward lean adjuster to decrease the highback angle for the ascent. Instead of screws, locks and complicated adjustment methods, the Expedition FC features a one-turn adjuster and a quick flip ladder that gets you to the top with minimal effort. Simplicity and performance in one package.

Split Pin System
Pins serve as a common method of connection for some of the top performing split system on the market. Union takes this mounting approach a step further by combining the pin with their Split System baseplate for further connectivity. Between the baseplate and the pin, the percentage points of connection are greater than pin-only systems, allowing for a stronger interface between binding and board.

Highback
The symmetric Expedition Duraflex Highback is designed specifically for touring. It features an adjustable quick-snap forward lean adjuster that goes from tour to riding mode with the flick of your fingers.

Baseplate
The X-Carb SP1 Base is made of a revolutionary composite that contains a very high amount of pre-blended carbon, resulting in a super light torsionally rigid baseplate - ideal for splitboarding.

Straps
All new for season 17/18, the Exoframe/Air Straps deliver strength and rapid response on the outside and fit and pillowed comfort on the inside. The Magnesium 2.0 Ratchets are built to last: four times stronger than aluminium with only half the weight, the new 2.0 design is also 10 % lighter than the previous versions.

Heelcup
The rigidity and strength of the FC Heelcups act like a roll cage on a race car - stiffening the entire chassis. The male/female connection with the base provides a seamless response.

Bushing
The Synthetic EVA 3.0 Bushings are shock absorbing, durable and are an outstanding compliment to the smooth, natural ride of the X-Carb SP1 Base.
