The design inspiration for the Skyforest Parka hails from Patagonia's archives—they’ve taken a classic heritage piece and given it a contemporary spin. The jacket’s lightweight exterior is made of durable 100% recycled nylon fabric with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish that sheds light rain in moderate spring weather and is fully lined with 1.6-oz 100% recycled nylon ripstop. The three-panel fixed hood adjusts with a drawcord. Full length, two-way zipper with snapped placket and storm flap keep moisture out. Two exterior chest pockets, two handwarmer pockets and one internal pocket all secure with zippers. Elasticized cuffs and drawcord at waist and hem provide shape and seal out spindrift while bike commuting. Slight droptail hem, length falls below the hip.
Since 1985, Patagonia has pledged 1% of sales to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. 1% for the Planet is an alliance of businesses that understand the necessity of protecting the natural environment. They understand that profit and loss are directly linked to its health, and are concerned with the social and environmental impacts of industry.
Når man spørger Patagonia, hvorfor de er blevet sat i verden, så svarer de: "build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis." Så kan det vist ikke siges mere tydeligt! De arbejder benhårdt på at lave innovativt, simpelt og brugbart tøj til at få eventyrere og udendørsentusiaster tættere på at udleve deres drømme.
