As with Ortovox MERINO ULTRA 105, for the MERINO ULTRA 145 Ortovox use Nuyarn® – the most exclusive yarn in Ortovox range. In an elaborate manufacturing process, the FINEST WOOL FIBERS ARE SPUN AROUND A NYLON CORE. The resulting yarn allows us to create fabrics that are LIGHTER but at the SAME TIME MORE VOLUMINOUS. Warmth and comfort and at the same time ELASTICITY and STABILITY. Compared to the MERINO ULTRA 105, the MERINO ULTRA 145 is a little thicker and provides more warmth in the biting cold.
The material strength makes the 145 ULTRA LONG PANTS perfect for ski touring or other alpine activities. Thanks to the lightweight material and the fine wool fibers, the 145 Merino Ultra line and its exclusive yarn are ideal for cool spring or autumn days in the mountains. This makes the pants the perfect companion for all mountaineers who value a light weight, warmth and functionality.
THE NATURAL PARADISE OF TASMANIA
Incidentally, 100 % of the merino wool from this collection comes from the Australian island of Tasmania. The wool from this natural paradise is high-quality, thin (18 microns), and tear-resistant. But just as important for ORTOVOX, the material is ethically and ecologically sound. Ortovox have very high expectations for the farmers. A large portion of their working time is committed to ensuring sustainable farm management and animal welfare.
Material: 90 % virgin wool (MERINO) + 10 % polyamide
Ortovox came to life when Gerald Kampel and Jürgen Wegner developed the first double frequency transceiver to aid in avalanche victim searches. They have since grown into one of the biggest producers of avalanche safety gear on the market. In 1995 they added merino underwear to their selection, and we have been hooked ever since!
