The Ultra Mountain Twin from Jones Snowboards is the new team favorite. It’s a lean and mean directional twin freestyle board that shares the same shape as the time-tested Mountain Twin only it’s built with speed boosting, chatter sucking premium materials. Rocker tip and tail deliver serious float in the soft stuff while camber underfoot combined with Mellow Magne-Traction give the Ultra Mountain Twin snap and hold on hard pack. Bombing into jump lines, the Sintered 9900 base provides the speed boost you need to go big while the carbon fiber stringers provide stability to stomp. New for 2017 the Ultra Mountain Twin features an Ash Veneer top sheet and comes in three new sizes.
For powerful freestyle riders that want to do it all: Powder slashes, kicker lines, and jibs.
This Directional Twin will provide you with some extra float in the deep fluffy stuff while still providing excellent switch riding capabilities. Due to the setback of the bindings towards the tail, the nose gets a little bit longer, while the shape of nose and tail is still symmetric. In deep snow, the blunted nose makes sure that less snow comes over the sides of your nose, as that would naturally slow you down. This shape also means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose, without the extra weight. Take advantage of the Magne-Traction edges to effortlessly link turns that look and feel nice whether they are at high speeds or slow and controlled. The Magne-Traction serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain, especially on hard pack and ice. They turn ice into powder. At the far ends of the progressive sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the side cut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
A unique rocker/camber flex pattern defined by an evenly balanced tip and tail rocker and camber between the bindings. CAMROCK improves freestyle finesse by keeping your tips playful while maintaining the power and pop of camber underfoot.
With a medium-stiff flex, the Ultra Mountain Twin is especially suited for big freestyle moves and powerful riders.
The Ultra Construction eliminates all excess materials on the snowboard, this, combined with a superlight wood core and carbon fiber delivers one of the lightest and most durable boards on the planet. The triple-density full wood New Power Core features hardwood bamboo stringers for added pop and durability plus paulownia for weight savings. Carbon stringers add torsional stiffness for improved response and increased pop. The Carbon layer keeps the flex profile dimensionally stable for a consistent ride for the lifetime of the board. Multi-axis stitched Triax fiberglass laminate offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions. The sintered 9900 Base is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon. This ultra-fast base is easy to repair thanks to the UHMW-PE. A thin wood Ash Veneer layer offers even flex and sucks up chatter from uneven snow conditions. All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability. The Rubber edge dampening and ABS Sidewall material is made of 100 % recycled material. Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax as well as factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain. By flip flopping the base graphic color, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield.
This board comes in 'Wide' version. It is wider than normal boards and developed especially for snowboarders with large feet (EU size 44+) to avoid too much overhang of the boots. Wider boards also give you better float in powder.
