An alternative all-mountain shredder, ideal for creative freeriding and freestyle - the Jones Mind Expander

Built to slash, spin, stomp, or simply shred, the Mind Expander by Jones is an inspired new alternative to your average all-mountain board. Surf shaper Chris Christenson and Jeremy Jones designed the Mind Expander to be a precise and fluid paintbrush for the creative modern day rider who draws lined blending freestyle, freeride and surf styles. For playful float in pow, the Mind Expander features a Christenson Surf Rocker profile, SPOON 3.0 base contours, and a hybrid directional shape. The blunted nose and squared off, but still full-size tail offers the nimble maneuverability of the Hovercraft matched with the freestyle abilities of the Mountain Twin. The Mind Expander also features Jone's new triple density Bamboo Surf wood core that has bamboo stringers positioned in the pocket of the sidecut for better edge response and turning power.

Riding Style
The Mind Expander is mindblowing, when it comes to Pow Slashing, crud busting and slaloming trees.

Shape
The Mind Expander has a directional shape which increases float and stability at speed. Directional is the classic snowboard shape, designed to be ridden with a slightly longer nose than tail to concentrate pop in the tail while still giving you plenty of float, flow, and control to rip any terrain or condition. In deep snow, the blunted nose makes sure that less snow comes over the sides of your nose, as that would obviously slow you down. This also means you get the benefits of a longer traditional nose, without the extra weight. Take advantage of the Magne-Traction edges to effortlessly link turns that look and feel nice whether they are at high speeds or slow and controlled. The Magne-Traction serrated edges give great edge hold all over the mountain especially on hard pack and ice. They turn ice into powder. At the far ends of the progressive sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the side cut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Profile
The Surf Rocker is a custom tip/tail rocker profile designed by surf shaper Chris Christenson. The nose rocker starts just inside of the front inserts, and the tail rocker starts just at the back inserts. When you weight the tail of the board, the nose ramps up out of the snow for an insane float on the deepest days. These subtle rocker contours match a Christenson surfboard rocker profile.
The SPOON 3.0 3D-base contours were specifically designed to provide next-level glide. The smooth radius of the SPOON nose and tail edges reduce friction at the contact points. With less friction and catch in the tips, you can maintain more speed, flow, and float. The freeride-focused Spoon 3.0 3D-base contour features an even balance of 7mm spoon bevel in the nose and 7mm spoon bevel in the tail. The spoon bevel starts at the rocker point.

Flex
A medium-stiff flex will ensure precise response and a lively feel.

Construction
The new triple density Bamboo Surf Core has bamboo stringers positioned in the pocket of the sidecut, for better edge response and turns power. The dual-direction, dual layer stitched Biax Fibreglass laminate provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride. The sintered 9900 Base is made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon. This ultra-fast base is easy to repair thanks to the UHMW-PE. The ECO-Plastic Topsheet is made from Castor beans. This biomaterial is ultralight, chip/scratch resistant, and water/snow repellent. All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability. The ABS Sidewall material is made of 100 % recycled material. Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax as well as factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain. By flip flopping the base graphic color, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield.
