When performance and power cannot be sacrificed, the First Chair 8 ski boot is the tool equipped to meet the challenges of the mountain, be it on-piste or out of bounds.
The First Chair 8 is built on the FTS Soul Chassis which isn't a re-design, but a re-imagining of the original 3-piece, it features a modern toe box and replaceable rubber soles for added traction and durability. With its 8 flex tongue, the boot provides a stiff yet responsive feel for those skiers who prefer a more resistant flex pattern.
All parts are sold separately for unlimited personalization and repair using a standard Philips head screwdriver.
The same 99mm last width and geometry as the Original with a slightly roomier toe box and rubber sole. The rear cuff has an unrestricted forward motion to never bottom out and move naturally with your leg instead of against it. Soft rubber layer in the sole of the shell absorbs vibrations, impact and shock for a smooth ride. Minimalistic 3-Piece design eliminates the need for thick heavy overlapping plastic or bolts for increased quickness and sensitivity, up to 2 lbs / 900g lighter than some alpine boots. There are natural rubber soles on the toe and heel for non-slip walking and hiking that can even be replaced if they wear out.
All adult boot liners are built using authentic Intuition® closed cell foam. It is body heat activated to mould 100 % to your feet and shells during use. Unlike conventional liners, our 100 % foam construction is air tight with reduced seams to retain body heat like a wetsuit. An additional J-shaped piece of foam is inserted internally on both sides of the ankle area to dramatically increase ankle hold down, to keep your feet perfectly in place for precise control. An additional layer of ergonomically shaped High-Density Intuition® closed cell foam is wrapped around the outside of the upper liner to increase energy transfer and horsepower to the shell. 100 % ribbed tongue enables smoother, more natural linear flex from your shin to your toe. Change a boots flex by simply switching the tongue. Unlike traditional designs, the rear cuff never bottoms out. It pivots infinitely forward with your calf for less shell distortion, no shin pain and more control. The tongue bends like a flexible straw, never bottoming out while providing smooth rebound. No more shin bang! The boots flex is rated on a simple scale of 1-10 (10=stiffest).
Cable closure works like a shoelace to eliminate dead spots for a smooth even pressure flex and fit.
Comfort is performance! The Full Tilt mantra rings true in many skiers ears. In 2006, Full Tilt decided to do the skiing community a huge favor and bring back the 3-piece ski boot design. Having been produced on and off since the beginning of the '80s, it was time to bring the iconic design back and to keep it alive for good! Now every skier out there has the possibility to know what pain-free skiing feels like! A real dream come true!
